What is a Cancer Registrar? |
|
Cancer Registrars (or Tumor Registrars) are highly skilled individuals that collect and classify data used by clinicians, scientists, health officials to assess the diagnosis, treatment, outcomes and best practice needs of the cancer patient. The cancer registrar not only collects the data needed for this purpose but ensures its accuracy and completeness while routinely reporting to required agencies in a timely manner while protecting the privacy of the patient. Cancer Registrars provide the data and services that comprise the backbone of the cancer program as well as the requirements for any local, state, federal and accreditation programs. |
