FAQ

In the text that follows we have provided explanations for Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) from our members.  This page will update periodically as new questions are directed to support.

What is Registry Mindset?

It is a membership program that provides contemporary learning and continuing education programs for cancer registrars, students and other healthcare professionals.

What kinds, or types, of continuing education (CE) courses are offered?

While cancer registry-specific training in abstracting, coding and staging of cancers is of vital importance to a successful career as a cancer registrar, we believe that a well-rounded education on other oncology, healthcare, operational and leadership topics is equally important.  Understanding the clinical concepts and information found within the medical record chart is important to accurate coding and staging.  As such, Registry Mindset will feature topics to this end.  For example: "Understanding Carcinoid Tumors," or "What is Statistical Significance?" or topics on leadership will be offered.

Can I try the program out before I purchase a subscription?

Yes, you can!  Using the CE courses tab from the top of the home page, navigate to our learning courses.  Select any of the free courses offered by registering as a "guest."  Our free courses still contain valuable information and will give you a preview of how our courses are designed and delivered to you.  One short note, however, is that guest users will not be able to print a certificate of completion after completing a free course, primarily because these courses do not qualify for CE re-certification credit hours from the National Cancer Registrar's Association (NCRA).
